DJ Silence

what's up everybody?!
so i told u guys about how i got started DJing and my first gig. So now on this blog ill tell u how i became to be the DJ i am today.like i said before i started DJing my freshman year of high school. My first gig was a sweet 16 party. I don,t know how i did it but i DJed by mixing between two iPods.

From that gig till now iv made and grow a pretty well off business. after that sweet 16 gig i bought my self some cheep but nice equipment and started to do other gigs. i was starting to expand and started to get to know more and more people. the end of my sophomore year of high school a friend of mine asked me to come up to Rider University where he goes to school to do a dance show over their radio. For me that was a big thing at the time and i was really excited. we made the radio studio like a club and blasted the music over the radio. We had lights going strobes and all. during that show one other DJ that was already there was calling me DJ Silence, i guess because i didn't really talk much. So from that gig the name stuck with me, DJ Silence

when i graduate high school it was well known around my town and school. i learned that it was time to take it to the next level. I wanted to learn how to use turntables and mix my music and make mix taps and remix songs. i got more and more into this and i saved up money and bought my self digital turntables. this opened up and hole new kinda a DJing for me. from then my DJing has blown up. i starting making mix CDs and gave them out, I invested money into hiring a MC. i started to have gig almost every week. At this time is when i changed my DJ name from to DJ Silence to DJ Scuilli, my last name

now today I DJ for applebee's doing Quizzo and playing music for them doing the week at a number of locations. I also have a Score keeper that works for me as well as a MC. I have a facebook, myspace, twitter, and youtube accounts. I'm very proud of what my business has become and I'm looking forward to whats next.

I thought it would be cool to tell you guys how i started DJing and how i got so much into music.

when i was a growing up music was a big part of my life. my grandfather love frank Sinatra and he would always blast his music almost ever time i was over his house. at home my dad was really into Disco and artist like the Bee Gees and Earth Wind and Fire. he would always be having parties and playing disco thour out the house.i remember when i was around 8 or 9 years old i used to hang out a lot with my older cousin, and every time i was wit him or in the car with him he would always have on 90s dance music, i loved it. i remember songs that i used to listen to over and over again like "What Is love" by Haddaway, or "Another Night" by Real McCoy. that is when i really started to like dance music. when i was a couple years older i got real good with the computer and i started to download music on Napster at the time. I used to download so much music that i used to keep it on all day, i was starting to build my DJ library of music.

When i was in Middle School i became real close to the school Librarian and he used to always talk about how he was a DJ and the gigs he would have. i really looked up to him and we got so close that he asked me to come to a gig with him and help him just carry things and stuff like that. I remmeber that that was the first time i really seem a Dj in action. He had touns and touns of CDs and really big speakers and lots of DJ lights. From that day i knew that i really wanted to do that it looked like a lof of fun lol

a year after that my freshman year of highschool i had a friend that was having a Sweet Sixteen party and her DJ didnt show up at her party, so i said to her i could play you guys music and i got tow Ipods and used really old like floor spearkers and i used a Boombox as like a resever that the Ipods ran thor and i mixed between the Ipods.

My name is John Scuilli, I never really Blogged before so I'm kinda of excited. I'm a part time student in college and i have been a DJ for about 4 years now. I'm really excited about blogging so i can share with you guys my DJing experiences and a little bit about what its like to be a DJ. Music is a biog part of my life and i look at it in many different ways and i want to share that with you. my business has turned out to be quiet successful and i think you'll like some of the stories i have to tell u how that happened
