Singalong Songs
Usually when I have a gig, I play what I like to call blocks of music throwout the gig. 9 times out of 10 at the very end of the night i play play block of "singalong songs", usually about three songs. Now I chose these songs from what kind of party it is or what kinda of people are at the party. I know that iv picked the right songs when I hear everybody singing alone. Most of the time one of the songs I play is "Don't Stop Believing", by Journey. When people hear this song they go nuts. It amazes me that the song is from the 80s and still today have a Hugh in pack on people and how much they love it. Another big song that most people like and singalong to is "Livin On a Prayer" by Bon Jovi. People really do go nuts over that song, its a feel good song and one of the best songs to singalong to. If the party is a little bit older party and theres a lot of older people there then I might play "Sweet Caroline" and see if people get excited and sing along to that. Like I said before I usually play these songs at the very end of the party. I'll play 2 or 3 sing along songs then I have to closer songs. I most of the time play "Last Dance" and that's a way that people and the hall knows that its the last song for the night. Another song that I close with sometimes is "Save Tonight", I play this is I'm doing a like younger crowed party. Over all the block of "Singalong Songs" is one of the most important blacks of the night. You want to make people smile and happy and sing along. It shows that there having a good time and that there going to leave on a good note.
